A festive event was held at the Tax Higher School under the slogan “Long Live the Dignity of Our Mother Tongue!”
A spiritual and educational celebration was held at the Tax Higher School under the Tax Committee to mark October 21, the day the Uzbek language was granted the status of the state language. The event was held under the slogan “Qadring baland bo‘lsin, Ona tilim” (“May the Dignity of Our Mother Tongue Always Be Honoured”). The event was attended by the School’s leadership, professors and lecturers, staff members, and students.

The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This was followed by a video presentation highlighting the history of our mother tongue and its place in our national identity and spiritual heritage.
F. Tillayev, Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual and Educational Work, addressed the audience and congratulated the participants on the occasion. In his speech, he emphasised the importance of cherishing the mother tongue, enhancing its prestige, observing the standards of the literary language, and strengthening respect for national values among the younger generation.
The guest of honour, Jamila Shermuhamedova, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, and advocate of spirituality and enlightenment, shared her views on the role of the mother tongue in the life of a nation and its importance in preserving national identity and spiritual values. She also emphasised that respecting the language, making proper use of its rich expressive potential, and passing it on to future generations in a worthy manner are the responsibility of every individual.
The artistic programme continued with a traditional national dance performance. In addition, the Tax Higher School’s theatre group presented a stage performance dedicated to the lives of the Jadids. The performance portrayed the efforts of our enlightened ancestors to improve public education, advance learning, and promote the progress of the nation.
Poetry recitals dedicated to our mother tongue, along with live musical performances, brought a special atmosphere to the event. Through these artistic performances, the unique charm and expressive richness of the Uzbek language, as well as its invaluable role in the spiritual life of our people, were celebrated.
As part of the event, an award ceremony was also held for the winners and runners-up of the essay competition entitled “The Uzbek Language — A Symbol of Our National Identity and Independent Statehood.” The participants’ creative works provided an opportunity to demonstrate their respect for the mother tongue, independent thinking, and written communication skills. At the conclusion of the competition, the winners and runners-up received well-deserved recognition.
The event, featuring a rich artistic programme and educational presentations, helped further strengthen the participants’ respect for their mother tongue and their sense of national pride.
By organising such spiritual and educational events, the Tax Higher School places particular emphasis on nurturing the younger generation in the spirit of respect for national values, patriotism, and dedication to spiritual heritage.
Respect for our mother tongue is respect for our national identity.
